Baptist History...
Calallen Baptist Church (CBC) was established on July 4th, 1874, with
eleven members. The membership raised $862.75 for the first building
on land that was donated in Nuecestown. The contractor donated his
time and labor because the church was short on money. The final
payment to the carpenter was one horse, valued at $50.00, and one
pistol, valued at $15.00, which were donated by the church members.
Part of our present property was donated by Calvin Allen, founder of
Calallen. There have been three different sanctuaries built at this
location.
Although CBC is over 100 years old, we are anything but old or out
of date. We are a VIBRANT and LIVELY church fellowship. For more than
a century of time, CBC has impacted literally thousands of lives for
the kingdom of God and will continue to do so by seeking innovative
and cutting edge ways to reach, equip, and minister to others. Our
goal has always been to present the timeless MESSAGE of Christ by
constantly changing and adapting our METHODS in order to be RELEVANT
for today.
